Dampness & Rot in Mid Walls

This is probably one of the most common repair items that occur in property maintenance.

Dampness has three main sources:

  • Rising Damp
  • Penetrating Damp
  • Condensation

Mid Walls:

  1. Rainwater Fittings
  2. Poor mortar pointing
  3. Poor/Weathered stone/brickwork
  4. Wall less than 220mm thick
  5. Cracking
  6. Exposed to prevailing wind
  7. Cavity Wall bridging
  8. Condensation
