Staging your home ready for sale
Staging your house is a sure way to maximise the chance of selling it. I’m sure that most of us have seen a programme called “The House Doctor” - Anne Maurice, an expert in house staging visits properties that are not selling. Anne makes suggestions for low-cost improvements that can be made to make the house look as appealing as possible.
These changes can range from a simple lick of paint, to a full blown bathroom re-model. In general, people end up spending around 2% of the property asking price on changes to their house.
Home staging is a lucrative business - stagers can charge many thousands of pounds for their services. And, yes, it is worth paying for! However, we at House Wiz understand that it is useful to have a decent knowledge of the tips and tricks that professional Home Stagers use.
Learn how to make your home look irresistible to prospective buyers - no matter how bad its current condition!
We have linked with Scarlett Street in order to bring you a low cost document in which there are many ways to improve the look of your house both inside and outside.
We’ve read the eBook, and for just £5 (it’s on special offer at the moment), it’s excellent value. Here are some of the contents;
- Outside Your Home (general tips)
- Front Entrance
- Inside Your Home (general tips)
- Kitchen
- Bathroom
- Bedrooms
- Living Room & Dining Room
- Final Touches
Summary
It is no secret that a well maintained, clean and appealing home has a far better chance of selling, at a higher price and more quickly than a home that could use some work and attention. Keep in mind that first impressions always create lasting impressions - and this is so important when trying to sell something thatis going to cost many thousands of pounds.
A small outlay of just £5 now, will give you hints, tip and ideas that will pay for itself time and time again!
